MATCH-PLAY KNOCKOUT COMPETITIONS
SCRATCH
No Handicap.
Medal Tees (Men play from White tees. Ladies play from Blue tees.)
SINGLES, MEN or LADIES
Handicap, 100% of Playing Handicap Difference.

MIXED (all formats)
Use Men's scorecard for handicap indexes.
Men play from Yellow Tees. Ladies play from Red Tees
FOURSOMES
Played in pairs, Alternate drives, Alternate shots.
Handicap, Half the difference of combined Playing Handicaps of each team (0.5 rounded upwards)
Men play from Yellow Tees. Ladies play from Red Tees
GREENSOMES
Played in pairs. Both players drive. Choose suitable drive and then play alternate shots.
Handicap, In each team the player with the lower handicap receives 60% of his/her Playing Handicap and the player with the higher handicap receives 40% of his/her.
Playing Handicap. Both figures are added before rounding. The final figure is the Team Playing Handicap (0.5 rounded upwards). Thereafter, full difference in Team.
Playing Handicap taken from the lowest team.

4 BALL BETTER BALL
Played in pairs, Best score on each hole to count.
Handicap, The player with the lowest handicap plays from scratch and concedes strokes to the 3 other players based on 90% of the difference between Playing Handicaps.

GENERAL RULES (UPDATED 2026)
All Knockout Competitions are Match-Play.
The Scratch KO matches, each hole is decided by the best Gross score.
The Net KO matches, each hole is decided by the best Net score.
Playing Handicaps are to be adjusted match by match to reflect any changes.
- At the time of the entry closing date all competitors must have a valid CGF Handicap Index.
- Each player must have submitted at least 3 qualifier scores in the last 6 months before the first round of the knockout.
- Cost of Entry is 5 euro per player.
- Once the competition starts no pairings may be changed without the permission of the Golf Operations Team
- It is the equal responsibility of both Players/Pairs in the draw to arrange the match.
- 3 dates should be given by each Player/Pair, one of which should be a weekend.
- 7 days before the round deadline, both players/pairs are to inform the Competition Secretary that a mutual time/date to play the match cannot be agreed. Together they will try to find a date/time. If it is not possible, then the result will be decided by a coin toss by the Golf Operations Team.
- No caddies allowed for any KO match.
- Members are asked not to enter the KO’s if they are planning to leave Cyprus for extended periods (more than 6 weeks) which will result in them missing matches.
- Extensions will only be granted in exceptional circumstances by the Golf Operations Team
- You are kindly asked NOT to enter any of the knockouts if you may not be able to complete ALL the rounds. To do so may result in disqualification.
