TaylorMade Custom Fitting Days – 11 & 12 November

Dear Members,

We are pleased to announce that TaylorMade will be returning to Columbia Secret Valley for two complimentary Custom Fitting Days on:

Wednesday 11 November
Thursday 12 November

Fitting appointments will be available in 45-minute slots from 11:00 to 16:15 on both days.

This is a great opportunity to try the latest TaylorMade equipment, compare different options and receive a professional custom fitting to help find the best setup for your game.

Appointments are limited and must be booked in advance, either directly through the Pro Shop or by email at [email protected].

If there are any specific models, shafts or other options you would particularly like to try, please let us know at the time of booking so the TaylorMade fitter can prepare accordingly and help you get the most out of your session.

We expect the sessions to be popular, so early booking is recommended.

Results – Inter Club Match Elea v CSVG on Wednesday 7th October 2026

Today we travelled to Elea Golf Club for our Inter Club match. Our team arrived on time, there was very little wind and I have never seen the course in such great condition, but unfortunately, Elea got the better of us on the day. 


The final score was 8-2 to Elea Golf Club. The greens were near perfect and the fairways immaculate with great weather throughout. Everyone stayed afterwards for the meal and we had a great time. Congratulations to Elea on their victory and hopefully, with a bit of luck, we'll return the favour in the return match.

6 Month Review of Members Handicap Index

Dear Members 
The 6 Month World Handicap System (WHS) review of Members Handicap Index for the period of 1st April 2026 to 30th September 2026 has been conducted using the WHS statistical tool (Data Golf) following the process advised by the Cyprus Golf Federation.
1 player was flagged by the system for review with a recommendation to either increase or decrease their current Handicap Index; The player has been notified of our conclusions.  
If you have not received an email, your handicap was not flagged for review. 
Moving forwards, it has been agreed that WHS Handicap Reviews should take place every 6 months with the next review on 1st April 2027.

Renovation Works Update – Locker Rooms & Driving Range

Dear Members,
As part of our continued programme of improvements at Columbia Secret Valley, further renovation works will be taking place next week, with the main areas affected being the locker rooms and Driving Range.
Locker Rooms
Works are scheduled to take place in the Ladies' Locker Room on Monday 21 and Tuesday 22 September.
Renovation works will then continue in the Men's Members' and Visitor Locker Rooms from Wednesday 23 to Friday 25 September.
During these periods, access to the respective locker rooms will be limited, and the showers and toilets within the affected locker rooms will be temporarily out of use. The toilets upstairs in the Clubhouse will remain open as normal. The works will include general repairs, improvements to walls and tiling, painting, and the replacement of existing fixtures and fittings within the shower and toilet areas.
Driving Range
The Driving Range will be closed for the full day on Monday 21 and Tuesday 22 September.
This closure is necessary to allow essential clearing works to be carried out to the riverbed and riverbanks directly in front of the Driving Range. For the safety of the team carrying out these works, we kindly ask that no balls are hit onto the range during this period.
Thank you for your understanding while these works are carried out. Further updates will follow to keep you informed of ongoing improvements and developments around the Club.

CHARITY QUIZ NIGHT AT ​COLMBIA SECRET VALLEY GOLF CLUB

Following the renovations in the Clubhouse, the next Charity Quiz
night will be on Friday 25th September, starting at 7pm.


All proceeds from the evening will go to the St. Michael’s Hospice in
Paphos.

The Quizmaster on the evening will be Trevor Fordham, ably assisted
by his wife Meg.

The maximum number of people per team will be 6 people.
Please contact myself at [email protected] if you are able to
attend, and the number of people attending.
If you do not have enough to make up a table, please contact me and
that can be arranged prior to the quiz.

Food will be available at the Clubhouse prior to the Quiz, up until
6.00 pm, with a special menu for the evening.
But anyone wishing to eat, MUST pre-book beforehand. So please
contact me for the menu available.

Remembering Brenda Churcher

Dear Members,

I am very pleased to tell you that we have agreement from management to run a memorial competition for Brenda Churcher. 
Brenda passed away in early 2026 and is sadly missed.
Brenda was the First Lady Club Captain for Secret Valley Golf Club and was Lady Club Champion in 2010;2011;2013 and 2014.
To honour her memory we will be running a fun competition on Tuesday 27th October 2026.

The format will be a team waltz 1-2-3 and entries can be made either as a team of four or as individuals. This will be a free competition but donations will be welcome. Brenda and her husband Keith were staunch supporters of St Michael’s Hospice. Any monies raised will be donated to the Hospice in her name.
There will be a drinks and nibbles provided at the Halfway House.
There will be prizes for the first three teams and following the competition there will be presentations on the balcony. I am very pleased to say that Keith Churcher will be attending and so hope to see as many of you on the balcony as possible.
