A timely reminder how to correctly take relief from bunker puddles.
Firstly, to retain Qualifying Conditions no more than 20% of bunkers can be made GUR. More than this makes a competition non-qualifying.
Free relief is available for temporary water (not mud) in a bunker. But only for a drop in the same bunker.
Using the ball's position, You find your nearest point of complete relief not nearer the hole (flag) for ball, feet and swing. You then have one club-length to drop a ball no nearer the hole.
If you cannot find the ball, you estimate point of entry and drop another ball within the bunker as above.
If your nearest point of relief is not a good lie, you cannot go to a better spot.
Nowhere to drop? For a one shot penalty you an take a drop outside the bunker, back-in-line.
