Rules Aid No 2
As the player, you can decide if your ball is unplayable (except when it is in a Penalty Area). But you have to find the ball first.
There are 3 one stroke penalty relief options. Best way to remember them is ABC.
A = Play the ball AGAIN from the spot where you last played from; OR
B = BACK in LINE. Drop the ball on a line with the flag, keeping the spot where the unplayable ball was, the new position and the flag all in a line. You can go back as far as you like.
C = Measure 2 CLUBS to the side of the unplayable ball and drop the ball in that area no nearer the flag.
