Happy April Fool’s Day!

The golf season is slowly ticking along. Below is a summary of what happened in March at Secret Valley.

Captain Vs Vice-Captain

Round 1 (pairs) was played on March 25^th.  The captain’s team is ahead 10 to 8.  But today (April 1^st) we have 35 matches in singles format.  So either team can win.

Sponsorship:

Through the efforts of of vice-captain and Member's Representative, we have been able to get sponsorship for our biggest upcoming golf events.  We have secured sponsorship for Captain’s Day in September and we are actively working on getting sponsorship for the Club Championships. 

Knockouts:

The draw for the knockouts was done on March 21^st.  There are over 100 pairs and over 60 singles entries.  That is a lot matches to be played by late November.

Captain's Charity:

To date we have sold about 300 tickets @10 euros (so about 3,000 euros) for the Club Membership raffle.  After round 1 of the captain vs vice-captain, we passed the hat and collected 200 euros from our generous members who were present.  My goal this year is 10,000 euros and we are well on our way.

St. Patrick’s Day:

Noel Greene dis a fantastic job of organizing St. Patrick Day.  We had a great turnout for the prize giving ceremony. I would like to again thank all of the members who donated prizes and made snacks for this event.  We could not have done it without your support.

Interclub Matches:

We had our home game against Elea and drew 5-5 so they won overall.  This year we had trophy made Elea had the honor of taking it home.

Captain Pro Challenge Matches:

We have played 2 matches so far.  Another 10 to go. Adam and I won the first match and lost the second.  We collected a total 100 euros for Autism for the 2 matches.

There are still dates available in the Captain Pro Challenge in September, October and November.

Nine Wine and Dine

Rescheduled Competitions

The Monthly Stableford scheduled for March 18, 2023 has been rescheduled for April 22^, 2023.

Sunday, April 23rd – St. George's Day (Note: We still are looking for members to donate prizes and help organize this event)

Friday, June 2, 2023 – Quiz Night.

Friday, June 16th – Summer Party.  It will be an outdoor meal on the lower grassed area with DJ Maurice providing the music.

Friday, September 22, 2023 – Quiz Night

Saturday, October 14, 2023 – Captain’s Charity Draw Gala Night (tentative)
