Format: Tues 20th Feb Captains Choice 1 Matchplay
The Captain has chosen the format for the 1st fun Competition in the Captain's Series (NQ). It will be Matchplay Couples vs. Singles.
Over the year different formats will be used.
Format – Better Ball in Pairs. Joint vs Single Memberships.
Handicap – lowest player is 0 and concedes strokes to the other 3 at 90% of difference in playing handicaps.
Entry Fee – zero.
Tees
Men – Yellow
Ladies – Red.
Handicap – Handicaps from the Mens scorecard.
Prizes – sponsors for NtP welcome. No other prizes. Please advise Michele.

Additional Local Rules in Force
Cleaning Ball “Mud Ball”: Fairway or Rough. Mark the ball, lift and clean and then MUST be replaced on original spot.
Preferred Lies: When a player's ball lies in a part of the General Area cut to fairway height or less, the player may take free relief once by placing the original ball or another ball in and playing from this relief area.
Reference Point: Spot of the original ball
Size of relief area: 15 centimeters (6 inches) from the reference point
Limits on Location of Relief Area: Must not be nearer the hole. Must be in the General Area an in itself an area cut to fairway height
Verti-Slits: Verti-slits still exist in the General Area (Fairways & Rough).
Free relief is temporarily available for a ball in a verti-slit.
Relief for stance, swing or line of play is NOT permitted.
1. Lift the ball, and you may clean it
2. Drop within one club-length
3. You may drop again if the ball finds another verti-slit
Players Responsibility:
Play by the Rules of Golf at all times
Players are reminded that the golf course can be dangerous in places (Steep slopes in rough, concrete buggy paths and along the river running through the course) and to exercise extreme caution when you walk along, enter, cross, attempt play or retrieve their ball from these areas which is at your own risk.
Player Etiquette:
For a matter of safety please have regard for your fellow players and green keeping staff at all times. Shout “FORE” if there is a danger of your ball hitting anyone.
Mobile Phones:
Please refrain from using your mobile phone for calls on the golf course unless in an emergency. Ensure it is in silent mode to avoid distracting your playing partners. Your mobile phone is permitted for distance measurement use.
Pace of Play
All Players are reminded that under the R&A – Rules of Golf – Rule 182a, a Player is allowed 3 Minutes to search for their ball before it becomes “Lost”.
It is your groups responsibility to keep up with the group in front and not just ahead of the group behind and follow the Course Marshalls instructions at all times.
Rake Bunkers and Repair Pitch Marks.
Players and Marker are to check and confirm that the Gross score for each hole is correct.
Player and Marker are to check and both sign that the scorecard is correct.
Place your completed scorecard into the Competitions Box promptly after completion of your round.
