Dear SVGR Members
The draws for The February 2018 Monthly Multi Tee Stableford and Round 4 of The Troon Trophy, to be played on Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th February, 2018 respectively, are now available on the website – secretvalleygolfresort.net – under ‘Draws’.
I wish to bring to your attention the numbers for Saturday. We have a full field of 72 players, the maximum number we can host. We have reached a position that we are over-subscribed for this competition. Two important matters arise.
The first is the order in which an individual member will be considered for entry into a competition according to their type of membership. It is Platinum, Gold, Twilight/Weekend, Juniors, followed by Executive Card holders. When a competition is full, there will be a reserve list also based on these categories.
The second is that we will move towards using the ‘Enter Competition’ on the website, as this gives a date and time the entry was received.If you go to the website and click on ‘Calendar’ all the events will appear. Simply click on the event you want to enter and then click on ‘Enter Competition’ – follow the instructions and your name will be registered for that competition. My intention is to open all April competitions on the site at the beginning of March. The Red Book will still be in operation, but the website entries will take precedence. I would advise you to use this facility as by the end of the summer, it will be the only way to enter a competition.
As an aside, given the number of players, I will warn you that any failures to appear will be brought to the attention of the Committee, who may apply a sanction. You could be considered last for the next 2 or more competitions, if not actually refused entry to those competitions. It is not fair to those you are playing with and those who may be on the reserve list. You must make every effort at the earliest opportunity to bring to attention the fact your are withdrawing – normally by telephone or e mail. The Comp Sec is the first port of call. The Pro Shop should only be used on the morning of a competition. Always check the draw to be sure you have not been included or forgot that you asked to play
I know this is a new way to do things and will take time to bed in. If you have problems, please speak to a Committee Member and we will all do our best to help and remedy any issues.
