2024 AGM Absentee Ballot – Committee Positions

Just a quick reminder that the on-line (absentee) voting for positions on the 2024 member's committee will start at 08:00 on Wednesday, January 17th.  If you wish to be on the on-line (absentee) ballot, you must must be nominated and seconded on the Member's Notice board in the upstairs' foyer 
by 16:00 (4 PM)  on Tuesday, January 16th.

2024 AGM

2024 ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

 

Dear Platinum & Gold Members,

The Annual General Meeting for Members of Secret Valley Golf Club will take place in the Clubhouse on Saturday, 20th  January 2024 at 3pm.

AGENDA:

  1. The meeting will be opened by SVGR Management.
  2. Apologies for absence.
  3. Captains Report
  4. Treasurer's Report
  5. Election of members to the committee.
  6. New Captains Speech
  7. Any other business.

Members who are present at the AGM will be asked to vote in order to elect the following representatives to serve on the Secret Valley Golf Club Committee for 2024. 

The Notice & Nomination Form has been posted on the Members Notice Board in the upstairs Foyer. The following positions will be elected:

Vice-Captain

Treasurer

Competition coordinator

Members Representative

IT Member

*The current Vice Captain will become Club Captain. The role of Handicap and Competition Secretary will move under SVGR management and will be replaced on the committee by the Competitions coordinator.

If any members wish to be considered, for committee positions we ask that you place your names on the Notice & Nomination Form that has been posted on the Members Notice Board in the upstairs Foyer or contact the Director of Golf directly no later than 16:00 on Tuesday, January 15th 

Please Note - In response to numerous requests from Platinum and Gold members, and in the interest of ensuring that every member's voice is heard, we are pleased to announce that this year, Platinum and Gold members who are unable to attend the AGM in person will be granted the option to cast their votes online.

Online Voting will be available from 08:00 Wednesday 16th January until 18:00 Friday 19th January and can be accessed through the following link

Christmas Presents for Ukrainian Children

A huge thank you to everyone who has contributed from the Golf Club , with presents for the Ukrainian children in Paphos.  Together with residents of Secret Valley,the response has been tremendous, and I delivered 105 presents to the Ukrainian centre in Paphos on Friday evening.
They will be given to the children at their Christmas party, which will be held next week.  Yesterday, I arranged a Christmas Lunch for around 50 mothers and their children at Chef's Garden in Paphos, and below are some of the pictures from the lunch.
It was wonderful to see them relaxing and enjoying some delicious food.
As the response to the presents was so tremendous, we had additional funds given to buy some presents, and I will now be  
presenting the Syrian children in Paphos, who meet in a small house in town, with nearly 100 presents for their own Christmas party next week.

CHRISTMAS GIFTS FOR UKRAINIAN CHILDREN IN PAPHOS -UPDATE

Further To my previous message, requesting presents for Ukrainian children this Christmas Their Christmas Party has now been arranged for Saturday 9th December at Chef's Kitchen in Paphos.
Could I therefore request that all presents are donated by the previous day, Friday 8th December, in order that they can be given out to the children on the 9th.
The presents can either be handed to Nadia at the Aristo sales Office, at the bottom roundabout in Secret Valley – or contact me directly [email protected].  Your support is very much appreciated.

Happy Holidays!!

Dear members,

We are now coming to the end of our golfing season for 2023. The knockouts, OOM, Perfect Partners and 666 series competitions are almost all completed.  December is a pretty quiet month for golf as the weather is at best unpredictable. We need the rain but it can make playing golf difficult at times.
I would like to thank all of the members who have supported myself and your committee throughout the year.  Secret Valley now has in excess of 400 members and I probably have not met half of you.

I will be travelling back to the USA to spend time with my family on November 20th and I will return on January 17th.  If you need to contact me, I can be reached via email or WhatsApp.
Please note a few important fixtures dates over the next 2 months:
St Andrew's Day – Thursday, November 30th
CGF Cup – hosted by Aphrodite Hills GC, on Sunday, 3 December 2023.
New Year's Shamble – Tuesday, January 2, 2024
AGM – Saturday, January 20th at 3 pm in the clubhouse.(signup sheets for committee positions will be posted in early January)
Presentation Evening Dinner – Saturday, January 27th at 6 pm  (A menu and cost will be advised in early December).  The venue will be the Club Restaurant. Members and guests are welcome.

Please note that the Draw for the free membership will take place at the Presentation Evening.  If you need more tickets, please contact either Jamie Evans, Blue Turnpenny or myself. We will also be selling the last remaining tickets at the presentation evening dinner.

Captain’s Parking Raffle Winner

The raffle winner was Kieron Healy!
Funny enough, Kieron had no cash today so I asked if he had Revolut. So he paid via Revolut and got the winning number. How lucky was that!!
We raised 245 euros for the Captains charity today. Thank you to all who supported the raffle today
