Dear Members of SVGR

To assist with the smooth running of competitions I would like to inform all members of the policy for entering Club events.

The priority of membership categories entering all competitions is clearly laid out on the Club Website.

Future Draws and Timings

Can members please use the online entry system for their entries and not ask me when they see me going about my daily duties I might forget they ever asked in the first place.

With effect from Monday 28th January 2019.

The Draw for all Saturday Competitions will be published by 6pm the preceding Wednesday.

The Draw for all Tuesday Competitions will be published by 6pm the preceding Friday.

Any member who enters after these dates and timings cannot be guaranteed entry, however they will be placed on a reserve list in priority order as laid down on our Club Website.

The draw for this Tuesdays 4 BBB fun competition will be published after the Medal tomorrow. For those playing tomorrow please observe the expected pace of play timings published on your score cards. On competition of your round please post your card in the competition score card box in the pro shop..

And finally we are experiencing ever increasing levels of pitch marks which players are failing to repair. It takes seconds to do so and all members are asked to repair their own pitch marks and any other they may notice whilst on the green.

Mark Caskey

Mark had been in hospital since Monday this week and was actually taking a shower prior to being discharged when he collapsed and died.  
Some of you may know he had been battling for months since his heart operation in Nicosia in April last year but we all thought he was now on the road to recovery and he was planning to return to Cyprus in the Spring.

Mark was a regular player with our early morning Wednesday and Friday group as well as a regular Nine, Wine and Diner.   
Our thoughts and prayers go out to his wife Luanne and his family.

 

 

Handicap Review

In accordance with CGF rules a handicap review has taken place. All members should check their revised handicaps on the CGF website.

Do not forget that the revised R & A rules came into force on 1^st January 2019 and the first competition (Stableford 12 January 2019) of the year will be played to these rules.

There were THREE draws after the Turkey trot Competition on 22^nd December 2018 and the winners were:
