The 2019 knockouts are all live and ready to start. Start arranging your matches and let battle commence!!.
Those who have yet to pay entry fees, I ll catch up with you in coming weeks or you can place money in the pro shop in the blue tin.

Christoforos Christoforou

It is with great regret and sadness that the Captain announces the sudden passing of Christoforos Christoforou.
A well respected and well thought of member of Secret Valley, his sudden passing will come as a shock to all that knew him.
Our thoughts at this time, are with his family and friends and we will update all with any further details when we have them.

Final Knockout Entries

I have the list of all submitted entries for this years knockouts. We have almost record numbers so thank you all.
As there was a problem registering when the entries went live, I have printed out a complete list of al the comps which will on the board by the ladies changing rooms downstairs.
Please check that you are entered and in all the correct competitions. I will leave this up till after Saturdays competition and the draws will be completed on Monday.

Knockouts Registration Extended

Dear SVGR Members.
The registration period to enter any of the knockouts has been extended to Monday 25th February to allow anyone not yet entered to grab a partner and get your names down. There are plenty of formats to choose from, including the new scratch singles competition.
Entry fee is 5 euros per comp and envelopes are in the blue tin in the pro shop. Please put your name on the envelope and which comps you are entering and more importantly, the cash inside.
The draws for each competing players will be finalised by the 28th Feb. Get entering and Good luck.

Patsomes Fun competition 12th feb Results

Winners today in the rain with a magnificent 45 points, subject to WADA doping rules, !!!!! 
Were George and Pauline Davis, bringing together 87 years of happy marriage and big 3 wood with a nice draw. See what happens when George does what he is told!  3 bottle of wine each, all for Pauline obviously!!
 2nd place, on a distinctly average 38 points, was Brian Shubrook and Sylvie Cuthbert winning 2 bottles each.
3rd place, beaten only on countback were Mike Burrell and the lovely Jayne o Driscoll , winning one bottle each.
A great day with the course playing tough and over 40 players. 
Make sure you get your name in for this weekends medal, a few spots still to be filled. It's the real start to the season and where reputations are forged!!!!

Saturdays shambles results

Thank you for all your support today for the first round back on the full course. Firstly, a huge thank you to Derek and his team for getting the course in such great condition considering the challenges they have faced in last few weeks. Thanks to your generosity, we were able to hand over €350 for the greenstaff to have a few beers and bar-b-q by way of our thanks.
A great day was had by all, with only a couple of showers and thanks to all who stayed behind for the prizes, which was as follows.
1st place.
With a team obviously fixed by the competition secretary.  Mick O Driscoll, Elizabeth Owens, Patrick Sarsfield, and a very dodgy Derek Smith. 
2nd Place.
Bob and Elaine McMillan, Mike Burrell all carrying Graham Houghton Brown.
Thanks for all of your participation today.

Inter club matches 2019

The link is now open for members to register your interest for this years inter club matches against Elea, Minthis HIlls and Aphrodite Hills.
This is always a fun day out, pitting our wits against the other clubs, with a drink and a meal after the matches.
These are usually teams of 20, with a mix of male and females in a 4 ball  better ball format.
This year we will be changing the colour of the secret valley team shirts, details available shortly, which will be sold at a healthy discount with a contribution from the club.
We will try and mix the teams so that as many people who register, get a chance to play, so don t worry if you don t get in the first fixture.
The fixtures and registration are under the INTERCLUB link on the front page of the website along with the choice of which matches your would like to be considered for.

Members Forum Now Active

We now have a Forum up and running on the website. This, will hopefully, give members a portal to ask any questions about anything to do with our club, competitions, pro shop, handicaps,etc.
There is a Forum link at the top of the home page, just click on that and then click on the “General” button and you can post your question/comment there.
Feel free to start a new topic, which anyone can add to.
We will endeavour to answer any questions which will satisfy your enquiry and may help others understand the workings of the club/competitions/ handicaps/prize money, and why Andy K gets so many 2s !! etc.
All we ask, is that you have questions that are pertinent to the running of our club.

Knockouts

The entry list for this seasons knockouts is now open. In addition to the regular comps, this year will also feature an open scratch knockout from the medal tees, which is open to ladies and gents.

Entries will close on 20th February and draws will be made by the end of the month. Cost will be 5 euros per competition which can left in an envelope in the pro shop. If you haven’t entered before, please give it a try this year. A great way to play with different members in the heat of match play.
