Hi Everyone
What a great day we all had celebrating St Patrick's Day and raising money to help support Lucas, a young man who has been battling cancer for over 2 years now.
I would like to thank everyone who supported the day. Special thanks go to Anne Mason, whose new saying is 'If you don't ask you don't get' and she did a brilliant job in asking for donations, and getting them! Also to Blue Turnpenny, who was a brilliant Auctioneer and raised Euros 835 for all the donated auction items. And a final special thanks to Russ Pomfret, whose parting shot was that he would match the amount raised at auction.
On a final count of the money, the total amount raised was Euros 3,365. I will arrange with Jeni to hand this money over to Lucas as soon as possible.
I wanted to congratulate all the winners, who received prizes that were generously donated by various members. Many thanks to Jamie, the Competition Secretary, who ran the competition making sure all the cards were correct and announcing the prize winners
Thanks to everyone who provided food at the Half Way House. The nibbles we had at the Club House were paid for from the Members' Competition Fund, and I thank Andy Richardson, the Treasurer, who agreed to subsidise the food by Euros 100.
It was a great International Day and I look forward to the next International Day – England St George's Day on 23rd April, which will be organised by Blue Turnpenny and Mick Mason.
