I would like to thank all members of SVGC for the wonderful support they provided for Loukas. An amazing €2340 was given to the fund to help Loukas through his battle with Lymphoma. For those of you, who were on the balcony yesterday afternoon, you will have felt the emotion and gratitude shown by Loukas. He was, and is, overwhelmed by the support given by the Club, and so are his parents.
On Wednesday he underwent the first of his chemotherapy treatments. It takes 5 hours for the procedure, which is tiring in itself. He goes for his second session in about 10 days.
For my part, I must also thank members for their generosity and support as I begged them to hand over their cash. Asking members to support the Royal British Legion Poppy Fund and to help Loukas is slightly intimidating, but everyone made the challenge easy and that made all the difference! I am extremely grateful and proud.
