We are now just over a week away from the Golf Day to be held at Secret Valley in support of Loukas.
Loukas is currently undergoing intensive chemotherapy treatment at the German Oncology Centre in Limassol. It is a tough regime for this outgoing and friendly young man as he is in isolation. His parents are only allowed to spend 1 hour with him each day and they have to wear protective gear and masks to ensure Loukas does not catch any infection.
If all goes well this week, Loukas will undergo stem cell therapy next week. Modern medicine is amazing but brutal.
It will be sometime before Loukas will be sufficiently strong enough to return to work. This is why your support is so important. Please help to make this young man’s Christmas a little more special.
Saturday 14 December should be a special day with a variety of treats, supplied by volunteers, at the Halfway House. Toma is providing Gluhwein and snacks in the Clubhouse, and Maurice Mawhinney has kindly volunteered to provide music. Members are invited to dress festively and colourfully for this event. Natalie and Pambos Adamou are very keen to help and you may see them at the Halfway House serving homemade sausages, a Pambos speciality, and in the Clubhouse after the game. Loukas will be in hospital so it is wonderful that his parents can be there on his behalf.
The golf competition will be a 4 Player Team Texas Scramble with nearest the pin on all Par 3’s. Jamie, who has kindly offered to sponsor ‘nearest the pin’, will publish further details next week. There will be no entry fee for the competition, but donations may be made at the “check-in” desk, where you will also have the opportunity to buy raffle tickets.
I wish to emphasise that all monies raised will go to Loukas. All prizes, food at the Halfway House and in the Clubhouse will be provided by volunteers.
