Dear Club Members
As many of you are aware Loukas Adamou is undergoing renewed chemotherapy for the treatment of his cancer. After one week of treatment it has been a bumpy ride for Loukas and his family. A few days ago he was in ICU as his body struggled to recover from the aggressive therapy. Then yesterday, Saturday, he was on the verandah at SVGC with his family smiling and greeting delighted friends. The resilience, courage and hope shown by this young man is unreal. His positive outlook for the future is a lesson for us all.
Loukas has previously undergone 6 months of chemo and was given the all clear in June, only to discover a few weeks later that the cancer had returned.
The committee has kindly agreed that the Club may hold a competition in support of Loukas on Saturday 14 December. The details for the day are in the making but the theme will be Christmassy. It will be a fun day and I am open to ideas for the event, goodies for the halfway house, raffle prizes and sponsorship. All help/ideas/volunteers will be appreciated.
Please help to make Christmas special for Loukas, who may be in hospital throughout the festivities receiving blood cells and bone marrow.
