In the last 2 weeks, members have continued to provide food and clothing for the Refugee families. Many thanks for all the contributions, which are invaluable.
The response for clothing has been remarkable, and there are now enough clothes available for the foreseeable future, so please refrain from bring any more clothing at this time.
Food is still critical, and I am providing via donations, between € 400-500 of food parcels per week to cater for the ever- growing need. Please continue to deliver food to the clubhouse.
The ACUTE problem is accommodation. I appreciate the offers from some SV members to provide a room for some families in the SV surrounding area. Unfortunately , as they need to be near the City centre, and have no transport, we have not been able to take advantage of these offers, but much appreciated.
As coordinator for aid for the Paphos area, I have launched an appeal this weekend, to not only SV members, but all the churches in Paphos , plus the surrounding villages to SV.
Up to 5 families are now sharing a 1 or 2 bedroom apartment in Paphos, with only 1 bathroom. So more accommodation is urgently needed to relieve this desperate situation, which will unfortunately not be short term.
I am therefore asking for people to commit to contribute a fixed amount for a minimum period of 6 months, to enable more accommodation to be found. I have set the minimum amount per month at €25, and this can be paid either
in one lump sum or monthly. Obviously I am hoping that one might be prepared to contribute more than the minimum set, but any amount raised will help towards the goal. I mentioned it to some members on Saturday ,and have had a very positive response already. All the funds received will be paid into our Church bank account, of which I am Treasurer, and then pooled , to enable the start of renting each apartment.

Alternatively, I will accept cash donations, which can be placed in a sealed envelope with my name and left in the Pro Shop. Please add your name and contact details in the envelope.
I urge you to assist these families with children, who have already suffered so much, and whose lives have been traumatised forever.
