Dear Secret Valley Golf Club Member,
I trust that you and your families are all well and safe. We are excited at being able to welcome you back to SVGR soon.
We are still waiting for confirmation from the Cyprus Sports Organisation (KOA) who have yet to clarify or permit the opening of either Golf or Tennis facilities in Cyprus. We understand that several sports federations submitted objections to their sports exclusion in the recent announcement referring to golf in the first phase of the lock-down loosening process. As a result, KOA made the decision to suspend the opening of all sports even those permitted by government decree until they were able to specify and clarify which federations were able to safely operate under the regulations in phase 1 to the loosening of the lock-down.
Given the recent positive news regarding the very small number of new virus cases being recorded, we are confident we will receive positive news regarding SVGR re-opening from KOA. At this stage we are preparing for an opening to be assured by no later than Monday 18th May, but perhaps sooner, depending on advice from KOA.
We have prepared our operating protocols which you will receive by email by Friday 8th May.
In the meantime, in anticipation of some of your concerns, some of the most frequently asked questions we have received from members are:
· Use of buggies: yet to be clarified by KOA
· Use of Driving Range and Teaching: yet to be clarified by KOA
· Play by over 65’s: We are confident this will be allowed but subject to advice from KOA
· Collection of members clubs and trolleys ex Club Storage: a staff member will be available for arranged collection, but players are then required at least initially to take their clubs and trolleys home with them after each round played.
· Bookings: Will be made either by phone during working hours or 24/7 by email (details to follow)
· Player Numbers: Limited to 2 ball at 10-minute intervals from 7am through 3pm.
· Booking Priority: Members will be given first priority for all tee times -Platinum then Gold and so on. Booking times will be limited to three rounds per week per player at least initially.
· Safety Issues: Detail to follow but as we have recently advised, there will be no bunker rakes, limited tee markers, no ball washer or benches etc.
· Food and Beverage: No Food and beverage services provided in clubhouse until late May earliest. A ‘takeaway” HWH service will operate as soon as we have been provided permission to do so.
· Clubhouse Change and Toilet facilities: Closed until further notice however on course toilets will be available.
· Sales in Golf Shop: yet to be clarified by KOA.
