Handicaps

The highest handicaps permitted for Ladies is 36 and for men 28. Players with higher Handicaps can always participate with a lower handicap.

Use of a Caddie

Not allowed.

Round Deadlines

It is expected that the completion dates for the following rounds will be (Depending on numbers in each competition):

§  Last 64  – May 15th

§  Last 32 July 3rd  

§  Last 16 – August 21st

§  Quarter – October 2nd

§  Semi – November 6th

§  Finals – December 11th

No change to the completion dates of individual matches will be accepted unless the knockout organizer has approved a request to delay, because of a legitimate and unavoidable reason.

Draw Date

February 26, 2022.

Entry Fee

5 euro fee per player per competition. Entry can now be done on-line.  Put your fee in an envelope with your name(s) and competition(s) entered. Put completed envelopes in the knockout competition jar in the pro shop, envelopes are available from the pro shop staff.  You must pay before the draw.  If you have not paid before the draw date, you will not be entered in the draw.

MATCH-PLAY KNOCKOUT COMPETITIONS

SCRATCH

No Handicap. Medal Tees (Men play from White tees.  Ladies play from Blue tees.)

SINGLES, MEN or LADIES

Handicap, 100% of Playing Handicap Difference.

Medal Tees (Men play from White tees.  Ladies play from Blue tees.)

MIXED

Use Men’s scorecard for handicap indexes.

FOURSOMES

Played in pairs, Alternate drives, Alternate shots.

Handicap, Half the difference of combined Playing Handicaps of each team (0.5 rounded upwards)

Men play from Yellow tees.  Ladies play from Red tees.

GREENSOMES

Played in pairs. Both players drive. Choose suitable drive and then play alternate shots.

Handicap, In each team the player with the lower handicap receives 60% of his/her Playing Handicap and the player with the higher handicap receives 40% of his/her.

Playing Handicap. Both figures are added before rounding. The final figure is the Team Playing Handicap (0.5 rounded upwards). Thereafter, full difference in Team.

Playing Handicap taken from the lowest team.

Men play from Yellow tees.  Ladies play from Red tees.

4 BALL BETTER BALL

Played in pairs, Best score on each hole to count.

Handicap, The player with the lowest handicap plays from scratch and concedes strokes to the 3 other players based on 90% of the difference between Playing Handicaps.

Men play from Yellow tees.  Ladies play from Red tees.

GENERAL RULES

All Knockout Competitions are Matchplay.

Each Hole is decided by the best Nett score.

Playing Handicaps are to be adjusted match by match to reflect any changes.

§  At the time of the closing date all competitors must have a valid CGF Handicap.

§  Once the competition starts no pairings may be changed.

§  It is the responsibility of the persons playing to arrange their knockout match. If this cannot be agreed, then players will be invited by the Committee, to play on the last day/date of each allocated time. Persons failing to turn up on that day to play, will be disqualified.

§  Members must have 4 qualifying scores in their playing record ( MyCGF) in the preceding 6 months to enter (Members can enter Qualifying scores to their “MyCGF” account, therefore gaining the 4 required Qualifying scores)

§  When the KO’s start, players must play 1 Qualifying score per month or will be DQ’d with no entry fee returned

§  No caddies allowed for any KO match.

§  Members are asked not to enter the KO’s if they are planning to leave Cyprus for 4 weeks or more.

§  As it can be difficult to organize matches, we will arrange to have tee times reserved for matches on the final day of the round of 32 and round of 16.

§  Extensions will only be given in extraordinary circumstances.

You are kindly asked NOT to enter any of the knockouts if you may not be able to complete ALL the rounds. To do so may result in disqualification
