Quiz Night Results June 2, 2023

Dear members,

I woudl like to thank all those who attended the Quiz Night on Friday.  We were able to raise 170 euros for  the Captain's Charity.  We had 30 players and all the money paid went to charity. Toma an Hillar donated 6 bottle's of wine.  The winning team each received a bottle of win and the rest were given away as raffle prizes.
The wining team was “The Wise Owls” with 83 points.
A special thanks goes to Baz and his wife for being the quizmasters.

Korineum Match

Secret Valley team has returned from its friendly match at Korineum Golf Club. It was a two-day trip with a practice round in the first day. Unfortunately, severe rain has stopped us before we could even complete the first half of the course. In my view the weather played a huge role in a convincing defeat we suffered the next day. Korineum is a great and a rather challenging golf course and in the future we would need to get to know it better. Meantime we are starting preparations for a home match with the Korineum team, and we do hope for a convincing win on our turf. Our team-members responses to the event have been overwhelmingly positive - we have made new friends and played the game we love so much.

Player's Rules Finder 
The purpose of this visual search is to help you the golfer, find the Rule relating to your situation within the Rules of Golf more easily. It is intended to cover the most common scenarios that you might find yourself in on the golf course and so it does not cover every eventuality. The Player's Rule Finder assumes you are playing either Individual Stroke Play or Match Play. 

R&A Rules of Golf – Rule 3.1a covers Match Play & Stroke Play. 
Resolving Rules Issues during the Round
Match-Play (Rule 20.1b): Any rules issues must be resolved before playing the next hole.
During a round, the players in a match may agree how to decide a Rules issue: 
  • The agreed outcome is conclusive even if it turns out to have been wrong under the Rules, so long as the players did not agree to ignore any Rule of Penalty the knew applied. 
  • If Players do not agree or have doubt about how the Rules apply, either player may request a ruling under Rule 20.1b(2). 
Stroke-Play (Rule 20.1c3): A Player who is uncertain about the right procedure while playing a hole may complete the hole with two balls without penalty. 
Any Rules decisions or Questions should be directed to the Director of Golf, Competitions Secretary or Assistant Competitions Secretary. 
Members are requested NOT to contact Cyprus Golf Federation Officials directly.
