What a Summer Party! ☀️🥳

Dear Members,

What an incredible evening!

Our Summer Party on Friday, 20 June was a true celebration – with over 100 guests coming together to enjoy, laugh, drink and dance late into the night!

All of it with one heartfelt goal: to raise funds for the Captain’s Charity.

Thanks to the Putting Challenge, Raffle, Auction and the exciting Mystery Boxes bidding, we raised more than €3,000 during the evening.

Our Scottish auctioneer, Gordon, gave everything to raise the price for each item high and higher! We all had a laugh and at the end lots of money went into the cash box. 

The winner of the putting challenge, run by Jamie, was John Owens. He needed only 7 putts for 4 holes. Wow! He went home with a luxury hamper. 

My heartfelt thanks go out to everyone who helped organize and execute the event  and to everyone who donated wonderful prizes and contributed in so many ways to make this event possible. Especially Joanne who was involved in the project from the beginning. 

A very special thank you to our member Russel Pomfret and his wife Vivian who donated generously €5,000 plus donations in kind – what an enormously support! 

We were deeply moved by the Vice President of the Ronald McDonald House Charity, who gave an emotional speech about the impact of their work and how our support will make a real difference. Ms Sophia and Ms Georgia were both very impressed by our support for the Charity and enjoyed the evening in this beautiful atmosphere. They thanked me personally for this special evening – the thanks are due to you all!!

✨ Altogether, over €8,000 was raised for the Captain’s Charity – absolutely amazing!

This evening brought us all closer together as a club and reminded us:

We’re not just great at golf – we also know how to party!

To see you all so happy and dancing together – that was truly a wonderful evening! 

 I am grateful, happy, and proud to be part of this amazing community.

9 Wine & Dine Reminder & Food Choices June 27th

Just a reminder that if you want to Play or Dine next Friday (27th), to get your entries in on the website or via our Facebook page. 

When you enter to play (no later than Sunday 22th morning) can you select your food choices (1, 2 or 3 below) for yourself and any guests please and put this in the message box.  I need to know your food choices not later than Monday please.

Revised Match-Play Completion Dates

Dear Match Play Participants,
As advertised, there will a pause of all Knock-Out Matches in July & August however matches may be played as follows: 
– players MAY complete their next round in Jul/Aug should both/all parties agree without limitation, or
– by Mon 29 Sep (since all remaining round deadlines will now be extended) 
Last 8 – Mon 25 Aug to Mon 29 Sep 
Last 4 – Mon 6 Oct to Mon 10 Nov 
Last 2 – Mon 17 Nov to Mon 15 Dec  
The website KO Draws have been updated to reflect the timetabling changes 
No doubt you will agree that we have witnessed the difficulty of some senior players to complete rounds in the extreme heat conditions that have prevailed during the past fortnight. 
It is incumbent on the organising committee and management to factor in such conditions by offering an extension (should players wish to avail themselves of this flexible arrangement) to complete their next round by late Sep rather than during Jul/Aug as per the current published timetable.
A flexible common sense approach will now take precedence rather than enforcing a round deadline, and potential medical harm to participating players, in Jul/Aug.

Captains Shootout Winners 18.06.2025

Dear Members,

On June 18th, our Captains Shootout took place! 10 women and 8 men participated in an exciting competition, although two players unfortunately had to withdraw last minute on the tournament day. Despite the heat and initial nerves, the tension increased from hole to hole, while the fun never waned. The number of active players decreased throughout the game. Fairness was our top priority. Prosecco, beer, and cold water kept everyone refreshed.

At the end of the tournament, Erica Broadhead and Ma LiMin, as well as Dominic Hampton and John Collinson, faced off at the 18th hole in an exciting duel. A silence fell over the men as a mishit tee shot went into a non playable position. A good shot from the bunker failed to impress the opponent, and two putts were enough for him to secure the victory.

This year’s winners of the Captains Shootout are Dominic Hampton and Erica Broadhead! Congratulations on this wonderful victory!

A big thank you to all participants for making this event a great success!!

On Wednesday, June 18th, the exciting Captains Shootout will take place over 9 holes! To ensure we have the course for ourselves, we had to make some time adjustments.
