The final score on the day was 6 1/2 to 3 1/3 in favour of Aphrodite Hills GC.
Over the 2 competitions, Columbia Secret Valley won 11 points to 9 points.
The match at Aphrodite Hills was played in perfect golfing weather, sunny, warm and with very little breeze. The course itself was in very good condition, the greens were fast and smooth, the fairway lies were superb and the rough was consistent and very playable. In terms of the weather and the course, a glorious day to be playing.
The Aphrodite members were fair and gracious hosts and for many, it was an opportunity to renew friendships from past matches. After the match, everyone was treated to a super lunch and the odd libation. The conversations then flowed around missed opportunities or those who had such luck they needed to buy a lottery ticket immediately! The sound of laughter summed up the essence of Inter Club matches, friendly sporting rivalry playing the game we all love.
Well done to all those who represented Secret Valley over the two legs of the Inter Club match against Aphrodite Hills….a well earned victory!
