Dear SVGR Members,
Well, that’s our first week about gone and isn’t it great to be back playing the game we love and in this superb winter weather. The forecast doesn’t look too good for the next few days, but hey, no complaints when wearing shorts/skorts and a polo top in February!!
The course is in terrific condition for this time of year and the practice areas and driving range are being utilised daily, but we are still a long way until normality resumes at the Club as the latest Ministry of Health/Cyprus Sports Organisation direction is that there are to be no Competitions until further notice-Patience required I fancy!
On a different slant, the Committee and some volunteers have Raffle tickets in their possession which is for One Years membership at Secret Valley. So, for a Tenner you can win €2,500. Even if you win and don’t join, you can sell the ticket, so it’s a win/win and I know you are itching to spend your money and raise money for the Captains charity ?
We have refurbished the Members board which is situated downstairs near the ladies changing rooms. We have also utilised the bigger one and members can now advertise any Golf Equipment Buys/Sales/Wants/Swap.
During the first week of playing, it was noticed that there are still some members not following the Covid Protocols as set out in the GM’s letter dated 5 February. Safety is Priority so pse read said letter and adhere to the following:
• Mask up.
• Sanitise.
• Produce valid Antigen Rapid Test Cert to Pro shop staff.
• Complete the Track and trace proforma.
• Don’t hang around the bag/Pro shop area and in large groups.
• Maintain 2m social distancing.
The latest SVGR Spring Special offer will also see some non-members playing and I have been assured that they will conform to our Covid protocols and have their Antigen tests checked on arrival by the Pro shop staff.
On a lighter note, you may also see a few of Episkopi GC members around our wonderful Club. Their course is unfortunately closed for the next three months and some members are utilising the deals the Club have given, so pse give them a hearty SV welcome if you come across them.
