Captains Day 2025 – Thank you for your Support –

Dear All,

I would like to take the opportunity of Captains Day 2025 to express my heartfelt gratitude to all members who actively supported me and who would like to continue to support my goal of raising €15.000 for the Ronald McDonald House Charity. This amount will enable the RMDHC to cover the costs of maintaining a family apartment for a period of three years. Through this support, we are helping many families who have a sick child during a particularly challenging time in their lives. Your commitment makes a significant difference and provides hope and support for families in need.

Update – Blue Tee Course Rating for Men

Dear Members,
The CGF Handicaps, Rules and Course Ratings Committee (HR&CRC) have completed the Course Rating of the Blue Tees for Men.

Blue tees remain in their current position with the exception of the 18th hole.
To ensure the 18th hole is a Par 5 for Men, the length has been increased by 39 meters and the Blue tees will be repositioned to the front of the Yellow Tee Box. 
 
The Ladies Stroke Index on the scorecard is to be used to determine handicap stroke allowances.  
The HR&CRC has confirmed there is no change to Ladies Blue Tee Slope Rating or the Stroke Index of the 18th hole for Ladies (SI 8)
The Course Handicap Tables have been updated by the CGF and will be displayed outside of the Pro Shop and the Marshalls Hut on the 1st tee.
They can be viewed on the Members website or via the MyCGF App.
 
The change will be effective from 0700 on Saturday 11th October 2025.

Competitions Letter

Dear Members

I understand that our last email regarding competition formats caused some confusion and disappointment.  Our intention is to create  a fair playing field for golfers of all levels.  

With the introduction of 4 set divisions and corresponding tee colours, we had hoped to ensure fairness for all handicaps.

Not all aspects and sensitivities were taken into account, and the committee held a new vote on Sunday/Monday regarding the following regulations, with a majority voting in favor of introducing these tournament rules:

*   Four set divisions (classifications may need to be adjusted to WHS guidelines).

*   Multi-tee option for all players.

*    Men may play from the blue tee box and this tee has been sloped for the men.  This is an additional choice for male players.

We wish all Members enjoyment and success playing the SV course.
